Description

Growkit Instructions:

Step 1

Unbox the Block: Open your grow kit box to reveal the 2.5 kg premium oak hardwood substrate block (approx. 12.5 x 30 x 20 cm), fully colonized and ready to fruit.

Step 2

Make a Small Slit: Using a clean, sharp knife, cut a small horizontal slit (about 2 to 3 cm) in the side of the plastic bag. Lion’s Mane forms the tightest, densest clusters when forced through a small opening.

Step 3

Set the Temperature: Place the block in a spot with indirect daylight where the ambient temperature stays consistently between 18°C and 20°C.

Step 4

Create a Humidity Tent: Lion’s Mane requires very high humidity (85-95%) to develop its signature hanging “icicles.” Drape a loose, punctured clear plastic bag over the block to trap moisture while allowing for airflow.

Step 5

Mist Daily: Using a spray bottle, mist the inside walls of your humidity tent 2 to 3 times a day. Be careful not to spray the growing mushroom directly to prevent waterlogging.

Step 6

Watch the Pom-Pom Form: Within a week, a dense, white, coral-like mass will begin to push through the slit you created in the plastic.

Step 7

Let the “Teeth” Grow: Keep up your daily misting routine. The mushroom is maturing when the cascading spines (the “teeth” or “icicles”) elongate and the cluster feels slightly spongy to the touch.

Step 8

Harvest and Enjoy: Slice the mushroom off cleanly at the base of the plastic flap with a sharp knife. Keep misting the opening to encourage a second flush of delicious mushrooms!
